1Wearing a Gown:You’ll be provided with a gown to wear during the scan.
2Metal Objects and Digital MRI Scanners:As Digital MRI Scanners use powerful magnets, no metal objects should be present inside the scanner.Remove all metal jewelry and accessories before the scan.
3Metal Inside the Body: Individuals with metal objects inside their body (such as bullets, shrapnel, cochlear implants, pacemakers, etc.) cannot undergo a Digital MRI Scan.
4Contrast Liquid (Gadolinium): Some Digital MRI Scans use an injection of contrast liquid (gadolinium) to enhance tissue visibility. Inform the technologists if you have any allergies or kidney problems.
5Claustrophobia: If you’re claustrophobic, let the doctor know. They may recommend a mild sedative to make the procedure more comfortable.
6Pregnancy Considerations: Women should always inform their doctor and technologist if they are pregnant or planning to get pregnant. There might be a risk to the fetus during a Digital MRI Scan, so precautions are necessary.
